Connect to Slack in three simple steps

Note: Ensure that you are authorised to add apps to Slack, and that the Culture Workbench Slack integration app is approved by your Slack admin.

As an administrator of your company’s Culture Workbench account, you are able to connect Culture Workbench to your Slack instance. Employees will then receive Slack notifications for new questions, and reminders to answer the index if they've forgotten.

Step 1

Login into Culture Workbench (ensure that you have Admin rights).

Step 2

To connect Slack to Culture Workbench click on Admin on the left menu and then choose the “Integration” option. You will be presented with apps in the right hand window that you have licensed with Temporall. Now, click on the Install button beneath the Slack icon. Then click on Link on the Edit Slack Integration page to install Slack to Culture Workbench.

You will be redirected to a Slack web page and then be asked to authorize permission to provide Slack access to your identity on Culture Workbench. This is needed in order for messages to be sent to Slack via a bot user. On this page choose the workspace that you wish to install the integration into (top right hand corner) if you have multiple workspaces, then click the Authorize button to complete the process.

Once you have clicked on “Authorize”, a Culture Workbench bot will automatically be added to your Slack client where you'll receive notifications about new indexes and reminders. 

Please note that you will not see the Culture Workbench bot in your Slack client's App area (in the Navigation bar), until it sends you a message for the first time.

Step 3

Once completed, you are ready to create your campaigns on Temporall Cultural Workbench and push via Slack.

When starting a new campaign please ensure that you select Slack as your questionnaire method.

Culture Workbench bot will send a slack message directly to everyone that is added to the campaign on the start date of the campaign.

The campaign participant will receive a message inviting them to the index (image 1).  If they click “yes” they will then be sent and prompted to answer the remaining questions in the campaign (image 2).
